Good points. In the past the type of degree was not as important

If you got a 4 year degree you could get into many good careers. The problem today is with all the loss of manufacturing jobs in the USA it is much more difficult to find work outside of low paying service jobs. I feel sad for the younger kids coming out of school today. That is why I think you need some advantages over other job seekers. You are certainly correct it only works if you are happy in your work. Being unhappy for 40 years would suck.
